In my life post-New Times, I've still been suckered in a few times to take photos. A few weeks ago, the assignment—a term I use loosely because there's no money involved here—was grabbing images of the Central Coast Roller Derby.
Awesome to the max.
And just last week, my camera and I were pulled into four hours of poetry readings at the 100 Thousand Poets for Change.
Much less awesome.
Not to brush off poetry with a bored-men-hate-boring-poetry wave of the hand—some of what was read was quite good—but four hours of anything makes one start to question life choices.
In any case, here are some of the resulting images as they appeared in New Times (you can also find a slideshow of all the derby images here).
